Yoga

What is Strong Yoga?

Strong Yoga is a form of moderate exercise with the temperature of the room varying typically around 30 °C with up to 40% humidity.

Strong Yoga involves both static holds and flow, which both lengthens and contracts specific muscle groups. Strong Yoga can be used for a variety of different reasons: to improve flexibility, suppleness, relaxation, meditation, recovery from injury or recovery from more physically intense activity.

No matter the reasons, strong yoga has exploded in popularity since the early 2000’s & is no longer considered an exclusively female endeavour.
Many of our yoga practitioners come from various backgrounds including GAA, Triathlon, Running, CrossFit and recreational physical activity. We use many variations of poses & flows during our classes which help teach balance, unilateral strength & mastery of simple movements.

What is Restorative Yoga?

Restorative Yoga uses long held, 100% comfort and supported resting postures. It helps release unnecessary tensions in the body and mind. It is a meditative practice as opposed to a movement practice, and the only effort is getting in and out of the postures and being able to look at how and where we hold tension in the body. Discovering where and how we hold tension helps us to find room for change, so that tension won’t limit our emotional, physiological and physical body. Restorative Yoga is so important if you practice Strong Yoga, train a lot, run, cycle, lift weights etc. the benefits of Restorative Yoga include:

  • Releases stress
  • Soothes the nervous system
  • Regulates blood pressure
  • Supports recovery from illness
  • Improves memory and concentration
  • Increase mental clarity
  • Supports the immune system function
  • Improves circulation to and the function of organs and organ systems
  • Reduces / eliminates depression
  • Promotes inner peace and tranquility

How Do I Start?

Go to the timetable on our website and click on “Try a Free Class” option and follow the steps from there. We also understand how intimidating it can be to join a new class, for this reason we cap each class with a maximum number of people to ensure each coach knows each client and their strength & weaknesses.

This enables them to recognise new members, integrate them safely into the class environment and help guide them around the class for maximum effectiveness & enjoyment.

If you are unsure of what each class entails or the type of clothing required, how much water or if you need to bring mats & towels please just drop us a message on any social media platform, email or phone.
